Noritaka Sato is a pioneering robotics researcher whose work sits at the intersection of disaster response, autonomous systems, and human-robot interaction. Best known for his contributions to urban search and rescue (USAR) robotics, Sato has dedicated his career to developing intelligent robotic systems capable of operating in the perilous, unpredictable environments that emerge in the aftermath of disasters.
