S. Veera Ragavan is a leading researcher in robotics and automation, with a primary focus on developing standardized ontologies for knowledge representation and reasoning in autonomous systems. His most significant contributions center on the creation of the IEEE 1872.2 Autonomous Robotics (AuR) Ontology standard, a logical extension of the core IEEE 1872–2015 Standard Ontologies for Robotics and Automation (CORA). This work, which has garnered over 60 citations in its seminal 2017 paper, establishes a common language for information exchange among robots, directly addressing the challenges posed by the rapid integration of robots into daily human life.
