Edson Prestes is a pioneering Brazilian roboticist and computer scientist whose work sits at the intersection of knowledge representation, formal ontologies, and intelligent robotic systems. He is perhaps best known as a driving force behind the IEEE Ontologies for Robotics and Automation (ORA) Working Group, established in 2011, which he helped shape into one of the most influential standardization efforts in modern robotics.
