About
Paolo Pirjanian is a pioneering roboticist whose research spans behavior-based robotics, multi-robot coordination, and planetary exploration systems. Best known for his foundational 1999 survey on behavior coordination mechanisms (182 citations), he systematically mapped how robots can decompose complex tasks into purposive perception-action behaviors — work that became a touchstone reference in autonomous systems research.
