About
Y. Yakimovsky is a pioneering figure in the early development of computer vision and robotic perception systems. His key research areas include image analysis, knowledge representation, and artificial intelligence for autonomous navigation. Yakimovsky's most notable contribution is the DABI system—a database for image analysis with nondeterministic inference capability, developed as part of the perception subsystem for the Mars robot vehicle prototype at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
