About

Jingjun Yu is a leading researcher in robotics and compliant mechanisms, with a focus on nonlinear modeling, mobility analysis, and innovative robot design. His work spans from foundational theory to practical applications, including a highly cited review on nonlinear modeling methods for compliant mechanisms (44 citations) and a seminal study on mobility analysis of complex joints using screw theory (25 citations), which has advanced the structural design of parallel kinematic machines, surgical robots, and reconfigurable systems. Yu has made notable contributions to bio-inspired robotics, such as the underactuated flapping wing robot with flexible transmission mechanisms, and to flexible continuum robots for aerospace in-situ maintenance, achieving a maximum bending angle over 360° with a minimal radius of 40 mm. His research on 2-DOF rotational parallel manipulators with spherical pure rolling motion and reconfiguration analysis of variable-DOF multi-mode manipulators has furthered the understanding of adaptive robotic systems. With over 100 citations across his key works, Yu’s impact is evident in both theoretical advancements and practical robotic solutions for complex environments.
