About

A. M. Hermann is a leading roboticist whose research focuses on motion planning, collision detection, and autonomous manipulation for mobile service robots. Hermann’s most significant contribution is the development of RRT*-Connect (2015, 201 citations), a groundbreaking asymptotically optimal motion planning algorithm that combines the speed of RRT-Connect with the optimality guarantees of RRT*, solving single-query path planning problems far more efficiently than either predecessor.
