Yoshiaki Asahara is a robotics researcher whose work sits at the intersection of assistive robotics, teleoperation, and human-robot interaction. His most influential contribution is the development of the **Human Support Robot (HSR)**, a domestic mobile manipulator designed to improve quality of life for aging and declining-birth-rate societies.
