Nitish V. Thakor is a pioneering biomedical engineer whose research sits at the intersection of neuroscience, robotics, and rehabilitative technology. Best known for his groundbreaking work in brain-machine interfaces (BMIs), neural engineering, and prosthetics, Thakor has fundamentally advanced how humans interact with robotic systems. His landmark HARMONIE project, which garnered 190 citations, demonstrated that hybrid BMI systems combining intracranial EEG, eye tracking, and computer vision could enable sophisticated control of advanced prosthetic limbs.
