Yiannis Kantaros is a prominent robotics and control systems researcher whose work spans multi-robot systems, temporal logic planning, distributed control, and robot learning. His research addresses some of the most challenging problems in autonomous systems: enabling large teams of robots to accomplish complex tasks reliably, efficiently, and with limited communication. Kantaros has made foundational contributions to temporal logic-based planning for multi-robot systems. His STyLuS* algorithm (2020, 115 citations) introduced a highly scalable, asymptotically optimal approach to synthesizing control policies from linear temporal logic specifications—a significant advance over computationally intractable prior methods.
