G. Piolain is a robotics researcher whose career has been defined by pioneering work at the intersection of nuclear engineering and advanced remote handling systems. Working within CEA LIST's Interactive Robotics Laboratory in collaboration with AREVA, Piolain has made substantial contributions to the development of teleoperation and force-feedback technologies for use in some of the world's most hazardous environments — nuclear spent fuel reprocessing facilities.
