About
Matheus Machado is a robotics researcher whose work bridges bio-inspired navigation and autonomous underwater systems. His primary research areas include simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), underwater robotics, and biologically inspired perception. Machado’s most significant contribution is the development of DolphinSLAM, an open-source, bio-inspired SLAM system that adapts the RatSLAM framework—originally designed for ground vehicles—to the complex, three-dimensional underwater environment.
