About
Yichao Tang is a leading researcher in soft robotics, smart actuators, and mechanical metamaterials, whose work has fundamentally advanced how engineers design high-performance robotic systems inspired by nature. His most celebrated contributions center on harnessing elastic instabilities — particularly bistability and multistability — to dramatically enhance the speed, force output, and multifunctionality of soft robots.
