Tangyou Liu is a robotics researcher whose work spans the frontiers of locomotion and surgical autonomy. His primary contributions lie in two transformative areas: the design and control of wheel-biped transformable robots, and the development of force-sensitive instruments for autonomous surgery. In locomotion, Liu pioneered the SR600-II robot, a full-sized platform capable of dynamic in-situ transformation between wheeled and bipedal motion, achieving unprecedented agility and terrain adaptability.
