About
Susumu Oguri is a pioneering roboticist whose work bridges the gap between surgical precision and intuitive human-machine interaction. His primary research focuses on developing advanced robotic systems for minimally invasive surgery, particularly for gastrointestinal procedures and single-port surgery. Oguri's most significant contribution is the creation of a novel robotic-assisted flexible endoscope that enables single-hand control for endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), a technique demonstrated successfully in ex vivo porcine stomachs (62 citations).
