Gene Simmons is a pioneering roboticist whose work centers on autonomous navigation and field robotics for extreme environments. His most significant contribution is the development of the Nomad robot, a planetary analog system deployed in Antarctica for the Robotic Antarctic Meteorite Search at Carnegie Mellon University.
