Benny Kai Kiat Ng is a researcher advancing the frontiers of autonomous robotics, with a core focus on relative localization and odometry for mobile systems. His work addresses a critical challenge: enabling robots to navigate and coordinate in GPS-denied or infrastructure-poor environments, such as disaster zones. Ng’s most significant contribution is his pioneering use of multiple Ultra-WideBand (UWB) ranging measurements for relative localization between robots, a method that eliminates the need for external infrastructure.
