Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to develop a intelligent mobile robot which is to be guided automatically (AGV) provided with computer vision. My robot acts as a substitute for the soldier & rescue people in the warfare and earthquake affected areas. Robotics combined with artificial intelligence plays a major role in reducing the loss of human life in the combats and rescue areas by sending them to diffuse a bomb or to detect landmine. Robotic warfare is the recent trend in which the robot can climb the steps, track, chase and flush out terrorists who lives along with the normal people without causing any danger to them, "why to put human lives at risk when robots can do their job much more effectively?" This simple question is answered by our paper. In the disaster conditions like earthquake and bomb blast affected areas, it is very difficult to find the alive human beings in need of help as soon as possible. Our robot will roam around the disaster affected area and detects a human by using the IR radiation which is been emitted by the human body and also microwave impulse radar (MIR) to detect the heart beat of human. It effectively monitors motion and detects it. My robot has special function of voice recognition and thermal imaging to identify the victim quickly and effectively. Genetic algorithm is applied to find the shortest optimal path. Our robot is built with scissor lift mechanism to lift the objects and building materials to lift the human, it also has 360° rotation with 6 degrees of freedom, and thus it can save the lives and limbs of human. Communication between robot and remote pc is achieved by IEEE 802.11g ADHOC Network, with enabled GPS. The robot can move freely since it detects the intruder, detects poisonous gas, temperature, fire. In accordance with MIL standards, Asimov laws & IEEE Rules, we have constructed our robot.
