Abstract
Autonomous agricultural robots are a key challenge in agriculture. This article presents an idea to create an agricultural robot using SLAM technology to facilitate the tasks of plowing and irrigation of fields. India is the second largest irrigated country in the world after China, but only a third of its arable land is irrigated. Irrigation is the most important agricultural resource in countries with tropical monsoon climates such as India, where rainfall is erratic, unreliable and unsustainable. India will not achieve permanent progress in agriculture until more than half of its arable land is irrigated.
