摘要

This paper shows development and application of a small stereo one board sensor module (SVO sensor module) using mobile phone CMOS sensors which can be easily mounted in a compact autonomous robot. The purpose of this study is to realize a simple structure, a compact package, easiness to install, low cost by using CMOS sensors for mobile phones, which might spread new technical area for visual information processing technology. Development and application results show that both distance measurement and gazing directional control can be realized using simple algorithms for a compact autonomous robot. Moreover, it is easy to install the proposed sensor because of independent image processing and its popular interface. These results implies that the SVO sensor module is useful for not only robotic field but also general vision sensor field whose requirements are a compact size, easiness to install, not high performance etc. One of interesting applications is for technical education field.
