摘要

A progress report is given of a long term project to develop a mobile robot assistant for humans in offices, homes, and factories, for example as a museum guide, an office delivery and mobile information system, or an automatic vacuuming system. Projects include a light arm, gripper, sonar-based position location and navigation, speech input and output, reinforcement learning for unknown environments, a planning system for decision making, and a convenient programming language for end users.
