About

Loral O’Hara is a leading figure in polar oceanographic engineering, whose work has dramatically expanded humanity’s ability to explore the most inaccessible marine environments on Earth. Her primary research focuses on the design and deployment of advanced underwater robotic systems, specifically for operations under sea ice. O’Hara’s most significant contribution is the development of the Nereid-UI, a revolutionary remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) engineered for tele-operation under ice.
