Jacques Gautrais is a computational and behavioral biologist whose research sits at the fascinating intersection of collective animal behavior, swarm intelligence, and bio-inspired robotics. Based at the Research Center on Animal Cognition in Toulouse, France, Gautrais has made significant contributions to understanding how simple individual-level interactions give rise to sophisticated group-level phenomena in social insects and animal collectives.
