Didier Mutter is a pioneering French surgeon and researcher whose career has been defined by the transformative integration of digital technology into surgical practice. Working at the intersection of robotics, augmented reality, and minimally invasive surgery, Mutter has spent nearly three decades pushing the boundaries of what is technically possible in the operating room. His visionary 1997 work on computer-assisted surgical procedures laid early conceptual groundwork for virtual reality in digestive surgery, anticipating developments that would reshape the field entirely.
