About

Davide Volpi is a pioneering surgical oncologist whose work sits at the intersection of molecular imaging and precision surgery. His primary research focuses on intraoperative fluorescence guidance for prostate cancer, leveraging prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) as a molecular target. Volpi’s landmark contribution is the first-in-human study of the PSMA Minibody IR800-IAB2M, a humanised antibody fragment conjugated to a near-infrared fluorophore, designed to illuminate cancerous tissue in real time during robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy.
