About

D. Naderi is a robotics researcher whose work centers on the stability, dynamics, and control of mobile and parallel robotic systems. A major contribution is the development of neural-network-based observers and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference controllers to enhance the tipover stability of wheeled mobile manipulators, ensuring safe operation on rough terrain. Naderi also pioneered the use of genetic algorithms for dynamic modeling and stability optimization of redundant mobile robots, allowing them to reconfigure their structure to navigate challenging environments. In parallel, Naderi advanced the kinematic analysis of planar parallel manipulators using Gröbner basis and resultant methods, and contributed to trajectory planning for spherical robots and gait synthesis for bipedal locomotion. With over 100 citations across key papers—including the influential “Neural-network-based observer for real-time tipover estimation” (36 citations) and “Dynamic modeling and trajectory planning for a mobile spherical robot” (34 citations)—Naderi’s work has provided foundational tools for improving robot stability and mobility. This research is essential for students and engineers designing robots for field operations, from planetary exploration to industrial manipulation.
