About
Alan C. Schultz is a pioneering researcher in human-robot interaction (HRI) and multi-robot systems, whose work has fundamentally shaped how scientists and engineers approach the design and evaluation of collaborative robots. Best known for co-authoring the landmark "Human–Robot Interaction: A Survey," which has accumulated over 2,500 combined citations across its 2007 and 2008 versions, Schultz helped establish HRI as a rigorous, interdisciplinary field by synthesizing its key themes and challenge problems for both newcomers and experienced researchers alike.
