Abstract

Wireless communication holds a lot of importance in data acquisition systems. Radio communication is a commonly used wireless communication method. Such a communication method is used in amplitude modulation radio, frequency modulation radio, radars, satellites, televisions, telephones, etc. Radio communication can also be used for other types of applications for example sending data to communicate with hardware such as robots and making it to do specific tasks which is the objective of this paper. The prototype consists of a transmitter which is a glove consisting of four flex sensors, Arduino Uno, and a Radio Frequency (RF) transceiver module to send data to the receiver. The receiver consists of an RF transceiver module that will receive the data, which will then be processed by Arduino Mega and subsequently used to control the movements of a 6-axis robotic arm. The paper discusses the complete procedure of how the data is generated by the flex sensors, what is being done with the data, and how the data is used to control the robotic arm movements.
