摘要
This paper focuses on optimizing the way ant colonies forage for food with regard to efficiency based on time as well as on quantity while utilizing only the natural capabilities of ants. This is achieved primarily by modifying how ants make use of the information available to them. The various ways in which such optimizations can contribute to advances in different fields are also discussed. The way in which the natural ant behavior and the optimizations that are described contribute to vehicle motion optimization, development of shortest path algorithms and distributed robotics is also discussed.
