About
Xueyuan Zhang is a pioneering roboticist whose research centers on modular self-reconfigurable robotics and human-robot emotional interaction. Zhang's most significant contribution is the design and implementation of the UBot, a novel modular Self-Reconfigurable Robot (SRR) introduced in a 2013 paper that has garnered 23 citations. This work established foundational hardware design principles—emphasizing cubic-shape, homogeneity, and strong connection mechanisms—that enable robots to dynamically change their shape and function, a critical advancement for adaptive automation in unstructured environments.
