Naohisa Nagaya is a robotics researcher whose work centers on autonomous field robots and infrastructure inspection systems. His most notable contribution is the development of a robot with active environment modification and construction abilities, designed to overcome the limitations of traditional field robots that struggle on unknown, rough terrain.
