About
Masayoshi Yasui is a surgeon-researcher whose career spans two compelling frontiers: surgical robotics and human-machine interface design, and minimally invasive oncological surgery, particularly for gastric and pelvic cancers. His early groundbreaking work in the late 1990s and early 2000s pioneered face gesture-based control systems for robotic laparoscope positioners, most notably the FAce MOUSe system (2003, 130 citations), which enabled surgeons to direct robotic camera systems through facial movements alone — a transformative concept for solo endoscopic surgery.
