About
Chen Ge is a materials scientist and electrical engineer whose research spans flexible electronics, neuromorphic computing, and advanced fabrication techniques. His most influential contributions lie in the development of flexible pressure sensors for electronic skin and healthcare monitoring applications. In 2019, Ge pioneered piezoresistive pressure sensors using silver nanowire-coated hybrid architectures combining mesodome and micropillar structures, enabling tunable sensitivity and detection ranges — work that has garnered 89 citations and represents a significant advance in wearable sensor design. A complementary study introduced lithography-free microdome fabrication via droplet templates, offering a scalable and cost-effective route to high-performance carbon/PDMS-based sensors. More recently, Ge has expanded into bio-inspired computing, co-developing artificial multisensory neurons capable of simultaneously perceiving touch and temperature through VO₂ memristors, bridging physical sensing with in-sensor neuromorphic processing. His inclusion in China's 2022 neuromorphic devices roadmap underscores his recognized standing within this rapidly growing field. His 2025 work on robotic automation for two-dimensional material transfer signals a forward-looking push toward scalable, precision nanofabrication. Collectively, Ge's research positions him as a versatile innovator connecting materials engineering, smart sensing, and next-generation computing paradigms.
