About
Carlos Enrique Gutierrez is a computational neuroscientist and engineer whose research bridges high-performance computing, embodied brain simulation, and intelligent transportation systems. His most notable contribution is the development of an embodied bidirectional simulation of a spiking cortico-basal ganglia-cerebellar-thalamic brain model integrated with a realistic mouse musculoskeletal body. This groundbreaking work, published in 2023, was distributed across multiple computers, including the supercomputer Fugaku—one of the world’s most powerful systems.
