Abstract

The application of robotic-drones in search and rescue operations, as well as supply delivery, often requires the integration of multiple robots, each optimized for specific tasks. These robotic drones must navigate challenging terrains, locate individuals, and relay real-time data. A key challenge lies in efficiently coordinating different types of drones while ensuring reliability during critical missions. In this work, we propose the development of a multi-mobility modular robot, a versatile robotic platform capable of switching locomotion modes to adapt to various environments. Powered by the AMD KR260 processor, this advanced robot is equipped with morphing appendages that enable it to fly, roll, crawl, and climb, allowing seamless transitions between modes. This makes the robot suitable for tasks such as search and rescue, healthcare delivery to remote areas, and environmental monitoring in rugged terrains. The AMD KR260 processor provides the computational power necessary for real-time sensor data processing, control algorithms, and mode transitions without delay. The operator interface allows intuitive control over the robot and easy selection of operational modes. Extensive field testing has been conducted to validate the performance of the proposed modular robot in real-world scenarios.
