Abstract
The rate at which harmful microorganisms have been amplifying has rapidly increased in recent years, affecting our daily lives. Ultraviolet radiation has proved to significantly reduce the spread of these microorganisms. This process can be automated as some of these radiations might be harmful to anyone in the near vicinity of the radiation. As a result, an autonomous disinfectant robot that can sanitize and disinfect the floor surface by killing these harmful microorganisms without any physical intervention is becoming an unavoidable requirement. This paper describes the development of an autonomous, modular mobile robot that can be used for disinfection in hospitals, restaurants, corporate, academic institutions and housing societies. It can be reconfigured for different purposes by replacing the top plate of the robot chassis with application-based add on.
