Abstract
In this chapter, we study a collective robotic system that isinspired by the behavior of social insects. The system consists ofmobile robots that can autonomously perceive and modify theirenvironment. We investigate the problem of controlling a numberof these robots in cooperation-based tasks that are too difficult forthe robots to solve when operating alone.
