About

Yao-Joe Yang is a pioneering researcher in flexible sensing systems, soft robotics, and artificial skin technologies, whose work has significantly advanced the field of human-robot interaction and biomimetic engineering. Based primarily at National Taiwan University, Yang has dedicated much of his career to developing flexible tactile and temperature sensing arrays that mimic the sensory capabilities of human skin. His landmark 2007 paper on integrated flexible temperature and tactile sensing arrays using PI-copper films garnered 164 citations, establishing a foundational framework for artificial robotic skin fabrication.
