About

Wenwei Huang is a rising leader in the development of multifunctional soft materials, with a research focus on MXene-based hydrogels, bio-inspired actuators, and flexible electronics. His work bridges the gap between self-propulsion and self-power generation, most notably demonstrated in his 2024 study on a high-performance MXene-chitosan composite hydrogel that enables both Marangoni swimmers and water-enabled electricity generators (41 citations). Huang has also pioneered multi-responsive soft actuators with integrated ultrasensitive sensing for human motion detection and soft robotics (30 citations), and developed self-adhesive, self-healing antibacterial hydrogels for ultra-durable strain sensors (22 citations).
