Vincenzo Denaro is a pioneering researcher at the intersection of neural engineering and spinal surgery, whose work has fundamentally advanced both neuroprosthetics and surgical precision. His most impactful contribution is the groundbreaking 2010 study on double nerve intraneural interface implants in a human amputee for robotic hand control, which has garnered 395 citations and demonstrated the first successful bidirectional communication between the peripheral nervous system and a robotic prosthesis.
