About
T Suh is a medical physicist whose research centers on precision and safety in image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT). A key contribution is the quantitative evaluation of advanced positioning systems, most notably the HexaPOD™ 6D Robotic Treatment Couch. In their highly cited work, "Mechanical Accuracy of A Robotic Couch" (2006), Suh demonstrated that such robotic couches can achieve sub-millimeter and sub-degree accuracy, enabling clinicians to confidently correct complex target shifts. This foundational study, with over 4 citations, directly supported the clinical adoption of six-degree-of-freedom correction systems, enhancing treatment precision and reducing setup errors. By rigorously validating the mechanical reliability of these devices, Suh’s work has helped bridge the gap between advanced imaging and precise dose delivery, improving outcomes for patients undergoing radiotherapy. Their research remains a reference point for quality assurance in modern IGRT workflows.
