About
Sananda Chatterjee is a researcher at the intersection of soft robotics, flexible sensors, and safe human-robot interaction. Her work focuses on enabling precise control and sensing in continuum manipulators—particularly for minimally invasive surgery—where traditional rigid sensors fall short. She developed a low-cost, flexible sensor using carbon nanotubes embedded in glycerol, capable of large deflection sensing without susceptibility to electromagnetic noise or bio-incompatibility issues.
