Dr. Moumita Paul is a pioneering roboticist whose research bridges intelligent navigation, human-robot interaction, and public health. Her most impactful work centers on developing autonomous systems that perceive and respond to complex social environments. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Paul created a novel surveillance robot that automatically detects human pairs violating social distancing norms in crowded indoor and outdoor scenarios, a contribution that has garnered over 130 citations across two seminal papers (2020–2021).
