Jean-Paul A. van Basten is a leading urologic oncologist whose research focuses on improving the precision of prostate cancer diagnosis, staging, and surgical outcomes. His major contributions center on developing and validating predictive models—including nomograms and artificial intelligence-driven tools—to better assess extraprostatic extension and lymph node involvement using multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI).
