About

Jaewoo Song is an interdisciplinary researcher whose work spans wearable electronics, flexible sensing systems, and intelligent robotics. His research focuses on the design and fabrication of stretchable and deformable electronic devices, with particular emphasis on enabling seamless human-machine interaction. In one of his most impactful contributions, Song pioneered the use of laser ablation techniques for the ultrafast prototyping of large-area stretchable electronics capable of acquiring electrophysiological signals for robotic arm control, garnering 26 citations and highlighting the practical promise of on-skin wearable systems. Complementing this work, his development of mechanically stable Kirigami-inspired resonant circuits for wireless vibration and pressure sensing — cited 16 times — demonstrated elegant solutions for real-time health monitoring and soft robotics applications. More recently, Song has expanded his scope into artificial intelligence-driven robotics, contributing to the benchmarking of vision-language-action (VLA) models across diverse robotic learning tasks, reflecting his growing interest in general-purpose autonomous systems. Together, his body of work bridges advanced materials fabrication and intelligent robotic control, positioning him as a versatile and forward-thinking contributor to the future of human-robot interaction and wearable technology.
