About
Isao Parra‐Tsunekawa is a Chilean roboticist whose research bridges two critical frontiers: the safe locomotion of humanoid robots and the autonomous operation of heavy industrial vehicles. He is best known for pioneering work on fall management in bipedal humanoids, where he developed low-damage fall sequences and integrated detection systems to prevent catastrophic failures. His foundational papers, including “Learning to fall” (2009, 47 citations) and “Fall detection and management in biped humanoid robots” (2010, 42 citations), have become essential references for researchers tackling the inherent instability of walking robots.
