G. Joel DeCastro is a leading urologic surgeon and researcher whose work has significantly advanced the field of robotic surgery, particularly in the treatment of high-risk prostate and bladder cancers. His most-cited study (55 citations) challenged conventional wisdom by demonstrating that robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) is a safe and effective option for patients with high-risk disease, expanding surgical access for this traditionally underserved group.
