About
Daisuke Nishimura is a robotics researcher whose work bridges practical service robotics and biologically inspired locomotion. His most recognized contribution is the development of SuiPPi, an autonomous mobile cleaning robot that underwent a landmark long-term evaluation at Expo 2005. SuiPPi’s mission was to autonomously navigate and clean the 2.6 km Global Loop—a challenging environment with curves, slopes, and obstacles like benches—demonstrating real-world robustness in public space maintenance.
