Bryan Willimon is a roboticist whose research lies at the intersection of perception, manipulation, and autonomous systems. His most influential work focuses on interactive perception—a paradigm where robots use physical actions to actively gather sensory data. In his highly cited 2011 paper “Classification of clothing using interactive perception” (89 citations), Willimon pioneered a system enabling a robot to autonomously extract and classify individual garments from a pile of laundry using only visual sensors.
