About
Albin Bajrami is a rising researcher at the intersection of robotics, manufacturing, and assistive technology. His work focuses on three key areas: robotic post-processing for additive manufacturing, human-robot collaboration in industrial assembly, and socially assistive robotics for rehabilitation. In his highly cited 2023 paper, Bajrami introduced a flexible framework for robotic post-processing of 3D printed components, addressing a critical bottleneck in additive manufacturing. He has also made significant contributions to collaborative robotics, investigating both single and dual-arm systems—including the FANUC CRX-10 iA/L and ABB’s YuMi—in real-world industrial settings at i-Labs. Notably, Bajrami developed an AI-enabled framework using the TIAGo social robot to augment upper limb rehabilitation, integrating commercial wearable sensors into an edge-fog-cloud architecture for remote patient monitoring. His work on posture optimization for highly-redundant robots has direct applications in assistive robotics for aging populations. With six papers published in 2023-2024 and citations accumulating rapidly, Bajrami is establishing himself as a versatile engineer bridging advanced manufacturing, collaborative robotics, and healthcare technology.
